Best Ever Chili Recipe
This BEST EVER CHILI RECIPE has been a beloved family dish for years. It’s incredibly easy to make and absolutely delicious—a must-try for every family!

I was fortunate to grow up with my mom, Susie from Simply Sated, who treated us to wonderful meals every night. I can still hear my dad saying, “Everyone who thinks Mom made a great meal, hold up your hand!” I wish I had learned to cook when I was younger, as I simply enjoyed eating what my mom prepared. Can you blame me? Have you seen her site? One of my favorite dishes was her famous Best Ever Chili! Nothing reminds me of home more than mom’s hearty chili. You’re in for a treat today!

Versions of this recipe have been in our family since my Great Grandma Lil made it on Christmas Eve. It remains a cherished tradition in the Adee family. When I finally decided to learn to cook (at age thirty), my mom drove from Kirksville to St. Louis to teach me the basics, and of course, this BEST EVER CHILI RECIPE was on the list.
We laughed about my lack of cooking skills as she shared her best tips and tricks, leaving my freezer stocked with delicious meals. I had countless containers of this chili, which helped me through months as a single social worker. (Thanks, Mom!) That weekend sparked a life change, a newfound passion, and a new career—pretty amazing when I look back.

As with all family recipes, each generation adds its own twist to the classics. I called my mom to discuss this, and we both agreed that sausage would make a great addition. This chili now includes ground chuck and crumbled sausage, adding depth of flavor and heartiness. To quote my mom, “Delicious! If I do say so myself!” I used Jimmy Dean Sausage because there’s nothing better. It’s what I grew up with and a brand I trust for quality.

This BEST EVER Chili Recipe has graced our table for holidays, weeknights, date nights, and everything in between. I even made it while tailgating at the Royals’ 2015 ALDS Championship game. I teased my mom for cooking chili dogs in Kauffman’s parking lot, but they were delicious. Could it have been the secret to our victory?

I hope your family really enjoys this chilli recipe as much as ours has over the years. It truly is the best ever! Click HERE to see my post on Jimmy Dean.
